Apple has just lifted the lid on the Apple iPhone 5S, the Cupertino firm’s new flagship. You can pre-order the device starting on the 20th of September. The new release starts at £549 for the 16GB version. The 32GB version will set you back £629, while the 64GB version will burn a hole in your pocket at £709. It will be available in three colour options, including black, gold, and silver.
So what do you get for the hefty price tag?
In terms of design, Apple says, “With iPhone 5s, Apple designers and engineers found ways to add even more features while preserving the thin, light design. These features aren’t just what’s technologically possible, but what’s technologically useful.” In other words, it looks exactly like the Apple iPhone 5.
The handset comes with a fingerprint sensor. Apple says, “Put your finger on the Home button, and just like that your iPhone unlocks. Your fingerprint can also approve purchases from iTunes or the App Store.”
It comes with the new A7 and M7 chips. Apple says, “The new 64-bit A7 chip delivers up to 2x faster CPU and graphics performance. And the new M7 motion coprocessor handles specific tasks to make iPhone 5s even more power efficient.”
Speaking about the camera, Apple says, “A 15 per cent larger sensor. Wider ƒ/2.2 aperture. True Tone flash. Burst mode and slo-mo video. The new 8-megapixel iSight camera packs in so much great technology, it’s even easier to get a great shot.”
Speaking about “ultra-fast wireless,” Apple says, “iPhone 5s supports more networks than ever before. So now iPhone users can experience fast download speeds in even more places around the world.”
Lastly, the Apple iPhone 5S runs iOS 7, Apple’s latest software.
